Royal County College of Technology(RCCT) is a technical college strategically located in Thika Makongeni opposite BGL formerly known as Polysack industries. We have been operational under both TVETA and NITA offering courses across Artisan, Certificate and Diploma levels in Automotive Engineering, Hospitality, Business Management, ICT, Plumbing, Cosmetology, Events Management, Accounting, Agri-Business and other Short courses. Quality education is well facilitated to our esteemed students to model their excellence in the current job market across the globe. In addition, we have a driving school and plant operation department where we train Shovel, Bulldozer, Excavator, Grader, Forklift, Roller and all motor vehicle categories under NTSA.

HISTORY

The idea behind the establishment of Royal County College of Technology dates back to 2019. During this period the Kenyan government had urged tertiary institutions to enhance on technical education. This call was triggered by the rising number of unemployment due to lack of adequate training and expertise in the technical field. The Royal County College of Technology founders decided to join other institutions on resolving this matter. The issue of students not progressing to universities and other institutions of higher learning was identified, thus an initiative was agreed upon to open a technical college. In the year 2020, the Royal County College of Technology was initiated, registered and fully approved by TVET for offering; Business management, ICT, Community development and Social work In order to remain relevant with training needs and requests for technical courses by the interested target group, the college further initiated programs in fields of; Plumbing, Welding, Plant and Motor vehicle Mechanics, Building and Construction, Hospitality and Tourism Management, Beauty Therapy, Fashion Design, Journalism and Agri-Business in the year 2021.
